Book of the Month- July 2026: Edgar Allan Poe

£0.00

This month, the literary spotlight is shone on American poet, writer and Gothicist, Edgar Allan Poe (1809- 1849).

Widely regarded amongst literary scholars, as one of the most significant writers of Gothic fiction, of seminal influence in terms of the development of the short story and Science Fiction, Poe's work continues to be read and enjoyed by new audiences and his writings adapted for film, television and other forms of popular culture. Much like the plot of one of his (many) macabre stories, Poe met a mysterious end at the age of 40, and his last words were (apparently), ‘Lord, help my poor soul.’

Several examples of Poe's poetry and prose in stock, including an exquisitely illustrated Arthur Rackham illustrated ‘Tales of Mystery & Imagination’ (first edition, 1935), and other examples of Poe's writing for fans of the man and the Gothic genre.

Prices vary.
