First published in book form in 1857 ‘Little Dorrit' is Dickens' powerful critique of Victorian society. It deals with themes of social injustice, wealth and bureaucracy, and like much of Dickens' work provides the reader with an entertaining and thought provocking look at British society and culture in the Victorian era.

This copy, contains all the errata present with a 'true first' edition, and once belonged to a member of the Foyles family (the bookshop in London). The prior owner signature at the front of the book ‘Mrs Batty’ is actually Christina Foyle, daughter of William Foyle, the founder of the famous bookshop. An important book, with its own fascinating history.
